Attendant Care is Unregulated Care Providers who are identified by the College of Nurses as an individual who does not hold a registered license in Ontario to provide personal care.
Attendant Care Provider or Unregulated Care Providers (UCP) frequently assist with the routine activities of care within the agreed upon plan of care. They work as a member of the team, by observing and reporting to Excel Care their findings.
Attendant Care or UCP may provide a range of services such as:
Personal Care- Bowel Program
- Intermittent Catheterization
Home Management- Housekeeping
- Meal Preparation
- Grocery Shopping
- Banking
- Escorted Transportation
- Pet Care if applicable
Mobility Attendant Care BenefitsIf the injured person requires services from an attendant as a result of the accident, the insurance company must pay for all reasonable and necessary expenses incurred by an injured person for attendant care up to a maximum of $3,000 per month for two years after the accident. If the injured person purchased optional coverage, he or she may be entitled to receive attendant care benefits beyond the two year period.
If the injured person is catastrophically impaired, he or she may claim attendant care benefits and is entitled to attendant care benefits up to a maximum of $6000.00 per month/or $1,000,000.00 per lifetime.
All eligible attendant care benefits are based on current Form 1 Assessment of Attendant Care Needs.
